Predator Sniper Styx Tips |
Helpful Hints:
If a shooter requires shorter shooting sticks than our standard 38" model, our Predator Sniper Styx can be altered very easily by the buyer.
Simply remove both textured protector sleeves. Apply a little liquid soap to the legs below the rubber hinge point. Slide the Hinge point to the desired height for the shooter. Next use a tubing cutter or a hacksaw cut off the extra portion of the legs to 4" above the rubber hinge point, filing your rough edges smooth. Reinstall the textured protector sleeves and you are good to go!!
Use Liquid soap to aid with the installation of our Side Styx conversion kit and Tri-Styx conversion kit or the readjusting of a Hinge Point or a Gripper Yoke. A little liquid soap added to the legs in the direction you wish to move the rubber part is a big help!
On our Tri-Styx model, if the shooter needs or desires to move the 30" stability leg and its yoke down the leg it is easily done using the liquid soap trick.
Our "Fur Taker" Predator calls can easily be made to use on a lanyard by drilling a small hole about 1/8" from the open end of the call, then use a small split key ring to put the lanyard and call together. There is very little weight and the call can be put in the mouth and used hands free to make squeaks, distress sounds, and also KiYi's giving the shooter both hands free. Also the hunter can purchase a Gripper Yoke and slide it up towards the Hinge point, on the shooting styx,so that the "Fur Taker" call can be snapped into the Gripper Yoke and will ride along waiting to be used.
If you are having trouble with the accessory feet loosening up while hunting, try a drop of BLUE colored locktite on the threads. This will stop them from turning out and you will still be able to remove them to change to other styles of feet.
